Our Mission & Vision

The American Friends of Jamaica is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting Jamaican charitable organizations and social initiatives targeted at improving the lives of Jamaicans through systemic development in the areas of education, healthcare and economic development.

Founded in 1982, the American Friends of Jamaica was established to strategically connect resources from North America to charities in Jamaica. We provide support to Jamaican organizations increasing the likelihood of successfully executing their missions. We envision a world in which all Jamaicans have access to basic education, healthcare services and economic development opportunities for a better quality of life.

The organization has emerged as one of the leading philanthropic non-profits devoted to the people of Jamaica. Since inception, the American Friends of Jamaica has contributed over US$11 million to several reputable Jamaican organizations.
