AFJ Grantees
The AFJ supports two types of grants on an annual basis:
1. Discretionary grants are awarded after a rigorous application process and selected from a pool of applicants by the AFJ Grants Committee
2. Earmarked grants are awards for which the donors have requested their gifts be designated for a specific organization.
The AFJ works to strengthen the non-governmental sector in Jamaica by supporting the following classifications of organizations:
Medical
facilities / Quasi-Government Medical Facilities
e.g. MoBay Hope
Medical Center, F.I.S.H.
Schools and other learning institutions
e.g. The University of
the West Indies, Coronaldi School
Church and religious-affiliated
organizations
e.g. St. Patrick’s Foundation, Food for the Poor,
The Good Shepherd, Mustard Seed
Community Organizations
e.g.
Trench Town Development Association, Project Help
Advocacy groups
/ welfare-providing institutions
e.g. Womens Resource Center
Social development agencies
e.g. United
Way of Jamaica
Civic and professional associations
e.g. Rotary
Club
